Shaw Festival Retains Wakeham & Associates Marketing, Inc.
Toronto, ON, May 12, 2010 – Wakeham & Associates Marketing, Inc. (WAM) today announced that it has been selected by Shaw Festival to establish and sell a sponsorship marketing platform to support its 2011 50th Season.
About Shaw Festival:
Nestled in historic and picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, the Shaw Festival is one of North America's finest cultural attractions and is renowned for its presentation of an eclectic array of comedies, dramas and classics. The Shaw is the only theatre in the world specializing in plays by George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries, and in plays about the period of Shaw's lifetime (1856-1950). Acknowledged as one of history's greatest playwrights, George Bernard Shaw is renowned for his wit and irreverence. The presentations at the Festival are offered in 4 theatres; Festival Theatre, Court House Theatre, Royal George Theatre and the Studio Theatre.
The Shaw's productions are designed to be enhanced by the theatre in which they are presented. Choices for each theatre are made carefully, taking into consideration what the theatre setting will bring to the work. The Shaw Festival is a non-profit charitable organization as opposed to a commercial theatre. It is governed by an active volunteer Board of Governors with almost 70% of our annual revenue coming from Box Office sales and other earned revenue. We produce 10 to 12 plays each season, with approximately 800 performances in our four theatres, to audiences totaling about 300,000 people.
