Sponsorship Marketing Group, LLC
Selected by Alberta, Canada to
Maximize Sponsorships and Tourism Promotions
Anaheim, CA, March 26, 2012 – Sponsorship Marketing Group, LLC (WAM) today announced that it has renewed its agreement with Travel Alberta to act its sponsorship marketing representative in Southern California. The primary mandate of the relationship is to engage consumers in unique ways to promote travel to Alberta. As the centerpiece of the program, WAM will work with the Anaheim Ducks and Anaheim’s Honda Center to leverage sponsorship of the team and arena by Alberta. Other promotional partnerships will be established by WAM to further raise the profile of Alberta as a travel destination globally.
WAM was selected for this assignment based on extensive related experience in working with tourism organizations across Canada, its familiarity with Alberta’s tourism attractions, and for its in-depth experience in managing sponsorship and promotion campaigns – particularly in the key southern California market. WAM has represented Alberta in southern California since 2010.
“We will focus on consumer promotions which invite people to learn more about the magnificent scenery of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper in the Rocky Mountains, as well as events and attractions in the exciting cities of Calgary and Edmonton,” said Hugh Wakeham, President of WAM. “Only a 3-hour direct flight from LAX, Alberta offers Southern Californians an exciting and accessible destination that is extraordinary. Our promotions will feature unique Alberta experiences ranging from Anaheim Ducks Fan Packages to wilderness adventures, spa packages, the world-famous Calgary Stampede, the Edmonton Indy race, and more. We invite interested promotional partners to contact us to explore opportunities for collaboration”, he said.
