Secures Partnership for Travel Alberta
With Billabong Snowboarding
Los Angeles, CA, November 7, 2012 – Sponsorship Marketing Group, LLC (WAM) today announced that it has secured a partnership for Travel Alberta with Billabong snowboarding of Australia. Billabong took advantage of Alberta’s champagne powder and outstanding conditions to shoot their Fall/Winter 2012/2103 campaign. The campaign will inspire Billabong’s wide consumer reach with Alberta’s breathtaking landscapes.
The global campaign features elite snowboarders such as Winter X Games gold medalist Jamie Anderson from the US and athletes Eero Niemala and Chris Carr as they explore Alberta’s Rocky Mountain playground. The shoot took place at Alberta’s famed ski resorts including Sunshine Village and Lake Louise, and with KPOW Cat Skiing at Fortress Mountain.
WAM has helped Travel Alberta to align itself with select global brands that have well-established consumer audiences that match their target market – allowing them to increase awareness and promote Alberta as a world-class travel destination. Billabong’s Fall/Winter campaign features Alberta images in videos, on-line, in-store, and in print internationally.

WAM was selected for this assignment after establishing a highly-successful international campaign for Travel Alberta with Roots Canada, and based on extensive related experience in establishing corporate partnerships for clients worldwide. “We looked at all of the brands in the world of ski and snowboarding gear, and ultimately pursued Billabong as it had the best brand fit and target demographic for Travel Alberta, as well as having the most established vehicles in place for maximizing the exposure and value for Travel Alberta around the world” said Hugh Wakeham, President of WAM.
